Tiger Milk Mushroom is a medicinal fungus, with the scientific name of Lignosus rhinocerus (Cooke) Ryvarden. Tiger Milk Mushroom grows in cool and humid area of wild forests. According to the aboriginal, Tiger Milk Mushroom only grows on the spot where the female tiger's milk drips. Therefore, Tiger Milk Mushroom is also known as "tiger milk".
The medicinal history of Tiger Milk Mushroom had reached more than 400 years. The earliest record is in 1664, a navigator named John Evelyn recorded in his diary that the Jesuits of Japan and China contributed precious tiger milk to the treasure stock of Paris.
This precious treasure was not well known until 2012 when Dr. Tun Mahathir, the former Malaysia Prime Minister, presented a key note at the Biotechnology Conference. He then mentioned that Tiger Milk Muhsroom had helped him to heal the coughing issues that interfered him for years.
