Kao water-based digital inks The ACQUA range has been developed using Kao’s proprietary LUNAJET® technology and covers a wide variety of graphic and packaging substrates, including the inks ACQUA for PVC and film, ACQUATEX for textile and canvas, ACQUAPACK for corrugated and offset papers, and ACQUASKIN for leather. KAO LUNAJET® is a unique pigment nano-dispersion technology, interface control technology, polymer design technology, and polymer coating technology to reduce VOC emissions. The ACQUA inks formulated using KAO LUNAJET® technology have the wettability, jetting stability, quick drying properties and re-dispersibility required for printing on non-porous surfaces such as film, and achieve high-quality less-VOCs printing, helping to improve the lifetime and maintenance of the inkjet printhead and to reduce the impact on the work environment in printing process as well as the natural environment. KAO LUNAJET® technology suppresses pigment clumping, enabling the stable dispersion of pigments during ink jetting even with long printing times, and achieving stable image quality as the pigments are uniformly dispersed on the media.
