ScanWorld

ScanWorld was created in June 2020 as a spin-off from Spacebel, a software company active in the space sector, with the support of the SRIW, a regional investment fund. Our offices are located in Belgium. We position ourselves as a cutting-edge expertise center in hyperspectral data and satellite imagery analytics.

ScanWorld is leading or involved in multiple projects exploring state-of-the-art applications of these technologies, with a focus on applications related to vegetation (e.g. forestry, agriculture). We use a wide array of data sources. When it comes to hyperspectral imagery, we work with demonstration satellites, such as PRISMA for which we have a user license, and drones.

In parallel, we are developing our own satellite constellation in low Earth orbit. The first launch is planned for 2024, with a full operational capability in 2026. These serve as a baseline that we combine, through proprietary data fusion techniques, with other open imagery sources. With that infrastructure in place, we can guarantee at least one and up to three images per week, for any point of the globe, without requiring any local equipment of infrastructure. Our product is 100x cheaper than existing solutions.

ScanWorld is a lean organization, with 14 employees. This also means that we are agile and have hands-on experience with the latest technology developments.
