The Pacific region comprises a diverse mix of economies, from highly developed markets, such as Australia, New Zealand, New Caledonia or French Polynesia, to less developed economies such as Papua New Guinea, Kiribati, Vanuatu or Tuvalu.

The first day of this GA event will be in a fully virtual format, the morning programme will introduce EU Space capabilities and promote the use of if its tools in disaster management and emergency response for the Pacific region. The afternoon sessions will concentrate on fostering business opportunities for SMEs and entrepreneurs.

The GA Locate 22 workshop on “EU-Australia geospatial (-temporal) technologies for disaster management and emergency response” will take place on the following day to concentrate on Australia and more technical perspectives, and to further promote the EU Space Programme, while equally presenting Australian perspectives.
