REINERTSEN New Energy AS

REINERTSEN New Energy (RENE) is a technology company specializing in technology and facilities related to emission-free production of hydrogen from natural gas (blue hydrogen), and carbon capture and storage (CCS).

The company has developed its own process for emission-free production of hydrogen, “HyPro-Zero” from natural gas and other gases. 

Solutions are also developed for: 

• hydrogen and nitrogen in ammonia production
• hydrogen in E-fuel and Biofuel production
• hydrogen for CO2 emission reductions in refineries and chemical plants
• transportation of hydrogen in existing and new pipelines

The "HyPro-Zero" solution is based on using proven hydrogen technology (TRL 9) in a completely new combination. By using HYDROGEN Mem-Tech's newly developed Palladium membrane technology for the separation of hydrogen, the following is achieved:

• high carbon capture rate (>99%)
• high energy efficiency (>80%)
• reduced hydrogen production costs (- 25% compared to other «blue» hydrogen technology)

The technology is internationally protected through patent applications registered in the UK and EU.

With this technology, hydrogen can be produced from natural gas, with CCS at less than half the cost of electrolysis. The emissions of CO2 are equally low or lower.
