Rugged Barcodes

GSM Graphic Arts offers a number of options for producing durable rugged barcode labels and tags. We can digitally print unique barcodes onto pre-anodised aluminium which is then sealed within the surface to provide a hard wearing, solvent resistant surface. We use various thicknesses of aluminium ranging from 0.3mm to 2mm to produce the aluminium barcode labels. These barcode labels are successfully used in a wide range of applications including Asset Management, Medical, Military and Instrumentation. For harsh environments such as Marine, Oil & Gas applications GSM offers either laser marked or etched stainless steel nameplates in which the unique barcode is marked into the surface of the metal. This provides an extremely durable finish which has been tested for use in very high temperature applications up to 800°C. We also produce plastic rugged barcode labels on which the inks are printed on the rear, and viewed through, the clear substrate to provide a long lasting barcode label suitable for a number of applications including Product Identity, Asset Management and Warehousing & Logistics. GSM can print standard linear barcodes, code 39, code 128 etc., which link back to a database to access the information or 2D datamatrix barcodes in which all the required information is provided immediately upon scanning. We can also generate and print QR codes which link to a specific URL used to highlight product manuals and brochures etc. Rugged barcode labels can be specified with a number of fixing options including a high quality self-adhesive tape or with holes in which tamper proof screws can be used to ensure they are extremely hard to remove.
