Plugsurfing is a platform that makes electric car charging easy by connecting over one million drivers to over 270,000 charge points within a single ecosystem, allowing drivers to charge at public charge points on one of the broadest networks in Europe. Plugsurfing works with major car brands, fleets, and charge point operators of all sizes to create software that streamlines car charging.

What makes this possible is the Plugsurfing Power Platform, the backend we offer charge point operators to manage, analyze, and expand their charge networks. When connected to our platform, charge point operators are able to deliver rich, contextual information to drivers. Drivers rely on this information to understand whether the charge point is available and working, a common frustration experienced by many early adopters of electric vehicles. And charge point operators are able to quickly determine the root causes of disruptions on their network to bring chargers online so drivers never run out of energy when they need it most. This all happens in the cloud, meaning charge point operators are able to manage their network remotely, anytime and anywhere. Plugsurfing also connects to charge points with other backends through roaming agreements, creating one of the broadest networks in Europe.

While Plugsurfing has historically connected drivers and charge points through our own app, we have worked with carmakers since 2017 to create a branded experience for their customers. Plugsurfing offers a white label solution of our app so carmakers can own the driver experience, following the trend of carmakers creating a branded customer journey throughout the ownership process. For carmakers with more comprehensive experiences for their drivers, we also integrate our solution through API directly into the carmaker’s app or even the car navigation itself. Owners of electric vehicles which do not have these customized solutions can continue to use the Plugsurfing app, available on the Apple App Store and Google Play.
