We provide PD on the science of reading that focuses on the actual implementation of high-impact literacy routines — not on theory. We believe that PD needs to be relevant, digestible, and actionable.
Our signature professional development series, Literacy Masterminds, uses a “flipped” PD model to help teachers learn about and implement literacy routines in the areas of phonemic awareness, decoding and encoding, fluency, reading multi-syllabic words, and more.
Our model includes weekly synchronous meetings for teachers to collaborate, problem solve, and plan with each other. In between meetings, teachers log onto our portal to learn about that week’s PD topic. Each week, teachers also receive an implementation assignment to apply their learning with students.
The cycle continues over several weeks, and by the end of our PD series, teachers feel comfortable with a specific literacy topic and routine.
