Infrastructure Engineer - DBA

Responsibilities: Proactively monitor the production and non-production database environments, ensuring optimum performance, reliability, and availability. Help maintain and improve the database environments in accordance with high standards and procedures. I.e., backups and restores, capacity planning and patching strategy, and documentation updates. Being an active part in migration strategies to cloud services. Act as an escalation point in incidents, change requests or requirements on database-related work. Support business projects to deliver database solutions working with project teams to achieve value for our clients. Skills Needed: 5+ years of experience administering and managing OpenSource, MySQL, MariaDB, AWS Aurora or Percona. Mid-Level MySQL Extensive knowledge and experience in designing and maintaining MySQL databases. 5+ years of experience building and maintaining mission-critical database production systems. Experience in analyzing application to database issues. Experience working directly with cross-functional teams, resolving issues related to data and/or databases. Experience using at least one benchmarking tool for database performance testing, such as HammerDB, Sysbench or other. Working knowledge of at least one scripting language (Shell, Python,Perl). Knowledge of Amazon Web Services (Aurora, RDS, DynamoDB, DMS, Lambda, EC2, EBS, S3, IAM, etc.) Systems engineering experience including Linux performance, memory management, I/O tuning, configuration, security, networking, and troubleshooting Knowledge of configuration management systems (e.g. Saltstack, Ansible) Knowledge and experience of Percona, Xtrabackup and Percona Toolkit platforms. Exceptional oral and written communication skills in English. Experience working in a remote environment. Natural willingness to learn new technologies
