Polypropylene microfiber cartridges are typically used for prefiltering prior to final membrane filtration. When used as a prefilter, the suspended solids at the rated micron will be removed, helping prolong the final membrane filter life. The MPA was designed with reduced square footage for both economics and smaller scale batches of wine.
For Spirits.....MPA cartridge filters are ideal for removing particulate in most spirits, especially particulate from barrel char. We have provided cartridges from 10-micron down to 0.2-micron, depending on how fine the distiller wants to filter.
