Reuse Lab is a design research laboratory that innovates for social impact and circular systems to reduce single use plastics.
According to Singapore’s Zero Waste Masterplan 2019, at our current waste disposal rates we would need to build a new incineration plant every seven to ten years. COVID-19 has prompted a sharp rise in food deliveries and takeaways.
With Reuse Lab, Forest & Whale aims to reduce the use of single-use plastic packaging for food delivery and takeaway by experimenting with new compostable materials and designing better, user-centric reusable food containers with local resonance. Through a carbon footprint assessment of the takeaway container, a more sustainable shared circular system of reusable containers to deliver food is proposed.
