El PVA o alcohol polivinílico es un polímero sintético soluble en agua que es muy versátil y puede adaptarse a varios estilos y texturas. El PVA se puede convertir en fragmentos de fibras, líquidos, revestimientos, perlas, lubricantes, etc. Como hilo de filamento, el PVA tiene algunas características beneficiosas, como su alta tenacidad. El hilo de PVA es hilo de Vinylon y se puede distribuir en hilo soluble e insoluble en agua. El hilo de vinylon soluble en agua es un hilo funcional desarrollado por los japoneses durante la última década. Se puede disolver en el rango de 20 grados a 90 grados de agua. Está constituido por alcohol polivinílico, que es uno de los pocos polímeros biodegradables. Con una buena resistencia a ácidos y álcalis, tiene un rendimiento superior en seco y caliente y una gran durabilidad.

(PVA, or Polyvinyl Alcohol is a water-soluble synthetic polymer that is highly versatile and can adapt to various styles and textures. PVA can be converted into shreds of fibers, liquids, coatings, beads, lubricants etc. As a filament yarn, PVA has some beneficial characteristics such as its high tenacity. PVA yarn is Vinylon yarn and can be distributed into water soluble and insoluble yarn. Water soluble vinylon yarn is a functional yarn that is developed by the Japanese over the past decade. It can be dissolved in the range of 20 degrees – 90 degrees of water. It constitutes of polyvinyl alcohol which is one of the very few biodegradable polymers. With a good acid and alkali resistance it has superior hot and dry performance and great durability.
