Our Sustainable Products: For our cotton yarns, we select the finest fibers from the world’s best growing areas. The most important characteristic of cotton fiber is its consistency in fiber properties. Buhler exclusively sources its ELS cotton from the US which is branded Supima®. Because our fiber selection is tailored to spin the finest yarns, we have a very narrow fiber properties criteria. In additional, we use the Engineered Fiber Selection computer system to ensure consistent fiber properties from laydown to laydown over the long term. This allows dye houses to be even more efficient when process our Supima fabrics. We purchase our TencelTM Lyocel and TencelTM MicroModal® fibers from the world’s leading manufacturer of cellulose fibers, Lenzing AG in Austria. The wood pulp for Lenzing’s fibers are sourced from natural forests and sustainably managed. The fibers Buhler selects from Lenzing’s are environmentally manufactured in Europe achieving high marks for its sustainable practices.

COTTON USAThe COTTON USA Sourcing Program has been a successful partnership between Cotton Council International (CCI) and a group of U.S. cotton textile manufacturers to develop, grow, and maintain export markets for U.S. manufactured cotton products. Since 2000, the COTTON USA Sourcing Program has worked throughout the U.S. – Western Hemisphere textile and apparel supply chain to introduce participating U.S. mills to potential customers throughout Latin America as well as to develop and strengthen relationships between U.S. mills, retailers, brands, uniform companies and regional apparel manufacturers. The Program has also expanded to explore sales opportunities in other regions of the world. Using local representatives throughout Latin America as well as CCI representatives in Asia and North Africa, CCI has successfully organized a wide variety of activities to promote the export of U.S. manufactured cotton yarns and fabrics.
