Information

Sustainable happiness is “happiness that contributes to individual, community or global well-being and does not exploit other people, the environment, or future generations” (Dr. Catherine O’Brien). In this hands-on session, participants will learn what sustainable happiness is, and how it can be used to enhance student success and well-being as well as course content. Professionals and managers will experience how this course can contribute to professional well-being. Participants will be led through typical activities and discussions that would be part of a Sustainable Happiness certificate. We will also hear firsthand from teachers who have completed the certificate and who are embedding the concept into their courses. Participants will leave with an understanding of sustainable happiness, and how it can be used to connect sustainability education, student well-being and curricular outcomes.
