Making sustainable healthcare actionable

For the healthcare industry, accelerating action towards the goals of the Paris Agreement is very much needed to reduce the global 4% of carbon emissions that the sector is responsible for. In this session, Philips and Dr. Hixson from NHS County Durham & Darlington will share their vision for whole supply-chain collaboration and outline why they think new concepts and ideas are needed for a better tomorrow.

As a concrete example, the 360-degree hospital assessment approach to identifying opportunities to improve sustainability will be presented. The assessment’s goal is to foster sustainable optimisation across all aspects of care, including clinical, operational, technological, and experiential aspects. While the NHS will share sustainability ambitions and needs for one of the targeted pilot sites, Philips will present how the tailored assessment methodology and tools are helping hospitals reach their goals.
