Information

At EcoTextura we are accelerating the transition between the current linear model of ‘use and dispose’ PPE to a circular alternative. We want to create the “ultimate-PPE” which is designed to be inclusive to those who are differently-abled, and eliminate damage to the environment throughout the supply-chain. EcoTextura supplies  proprietary and inclusive-design, PPE which is made from natural-fibre nonwoven fabrics, that can be recycled or composted after use (and sterilisation), with its new product range releasing in 2022.

Every day, over 16 million PPE items are incinerated or send to landfill from just the NHS alone, resulting in hundreds of tonnes of material wastage, microplastics leaked into the environment and toxic fumes/carbon emissions released unnecessarily into the atmosphere, which can all be avoided.

We are break the existing “lock-in” issue that large PPE manufacturers face; they have already invested millions of capital into machinery, processes, product testing, designs and materials, and will stick to what they know and what has been making them profit for years. Hospitals are also used to cheap bulk pricing of PPE and have waste systems in place to collect and dispose/incinerate their used PPE, and need to informed that sustainable alternatives exist and can be easily integrated.

Radhika Srinivasan, the CEO and Founder of EcoTextura is a mechanical engineering graduate and ex-stockbroker who began redesigning the inefficient protective personal equipment (PPE) she was made to wear during her hospital visits in 2015. EcoTextura now supplies proprietary, eco-friendly & inclusive-design PPE and fabrics to national public health organisations and numerous establishments from across the world. With years of independent research and knowledge in the PPE development field, EcoTextura is grateful that it was equipped to immediately help during the Covid-19 pandemic, especially to those on the frontline.

Currently, its uniquely designed, inclusive, transparent medical mask makes a huge positive impact on various communities, including those who are deaf and hard of hearing, have learning disabilities, the elderly etc. who rely heavily on lip-reading to communicate.
