The Port of Brownsville is the only deep-water seaport located directly on the U.S.–Mexico border. It is the largest land-owning public port authority in the country with 40,000 acres of land. The port offers versatile marine terminal operations for both liquid and dry bulk cargo. It transships more steel into Mexico than any other U.S. port and is home to premier energy, shipbuilding, and ship recycling industries. Additional sectors supported by the port include agriculture, construction, wind energy, the space industry, and project cargo.
