"Blockbuster" is a parodic movie show created from more than 1.400 sequence shots took in 160 Hollywood movies. From this titanic editing is born a UFO-like movie with an original script. Mortier, the boss of bosses, is extremely embarrassed: the government thinks about introducing a new high income taxation. No way! In the meantime, the investigative journalist Corinne Lagneau wrote an article detailing how huge companies offset their profits to avoid taxation. But one day before publication, the article has been rewritten and the journalist dismissed. As a result, Lagneau writes a virulent response that ignites the social media and incites citizens to rebellion. Mortier has to defuse this popular uprising as soon as possible... All ingredients of a blockbuster are gathered in this clever mashup: Manichean heroes, car-chases, spectacular explosions. The Collectif Mensuel performs skilfully the voice dubbing, the “homemade” sound effects and the music, all live. Blockbuster is a tale about violence from the dominant class on common people where humour is conceived as the instrument of protest.
