COCORICO by Patrice Thibaud and Philippe Leygnac is a French physical comedy production that has toured across Europe and was presented at the 2015 Shanghai Comedy Festival following sold-out performances at the Macau Arts Festival, at PADAF: festival of dance, theatre and film and the Chuncheon Mime Festival in Korea, the Taipei International Children’s Festival and the London Mime Festival in the UK. COCORICO is a sublime show by two comic performers both skilful in their own right but who together complement each other to provide a show that is both highly skilled and side-splittingly funny. And all without words. The hilariously funny Cocorico showcases the talents of two of France's best-known comic performers – physical comedian Thibaud and acrobatic-musician Leygnac. In an 80-minute show of wordless the pair take audiences on a roller-coaster ride of hilarious merriment through mime, music, shadow play and slapstick. The plot unfolds when Thibaud, the mischievous man-boy exploits every opportunity to pester his sidekick Leygnac, a taciturn musician. Eventually humour defeats reason and drives the acrobatic Leygnac to join Thibaud’s spree of antics where the duo animate the stage through highly nuanced and evocative movement alongside well-executed, multi-instrumental music.
