Silestone Specified at Contemporary Shake Shack Restaurant in Lakeside
Hospitality
Information
Silestone by Cosentino has been specified at Lakeside’s Shake Shack restaurant. Fabricated by Taylor Made Workshop, Silestone in Blanco Maple was chosen for its brightness and terrazzo-style speckled effect, helping to bring together the contemporary interior designed by hospitality and retail design consultancy Zebra Projects. Silestone forms part of the design around the restaurant’s front signage as well as being used for plant potter dividers between seating areas. Wooden wall panelling and benches pay homage to the restaurant’s outdoor roots as a hot dog cart in Madison Square Park, Manhattan – where it all began in 2001.
Zebra’s Design Manager, Delphine Bousseau commented “When designing Shake Shack Lakeside, we turned to Cosentino for a strong and versatile material. We liked the diversity of the designs available and found a great match in Terrazzo Blanco Maple, which complemented our new light and bright material palette. It has great resistance and durability which is perfect in a high traffic environment like the Shake Shack. The different thicknesses of the material allowed for really clean and sleek finishing details, enhancing the contemporary design of this new Shack.”
Opening at Lakeside in 2019, the restaurant is well known for its impressive indulgent menu, including a vast selection of milkshakes, burgers and hotdogs. Committed to helping the planet, Shake Shack strives to lessen its footprint by only working with local suppliers and premium ingredients.
Silestone Blanco Maple, like all Silestone products, offers a natural finish that is not only beautiful, but also comes with advanced technical properties. Made from a high proportion of quartz, Silestone by Cosentino is a practical choice for kitchen surfaces and reception areas, where daily use is high. Extremely resistant to stains and scratches, Silestone also boasts a very low liquid absorption rate, repelling liquid and facilitating easy daily cleaning.
