Flux
Bespoke lighting
Information
An infinite cascade of light evoking a sense of calm wonder as a range of stunning centrepieces.
The original Flux sculpture was created by Haberdashery for Foster+Partner’s Principal Tower in Bishopsgate, London; an embodiment of the energy and state of constant change in this thriving part of the city. Within this piece the dense clusters of vertically hung tubes are alive with animated light streaming downwards in an infinite cycle.
Haberdashery has taken the sculpture’s gentle rain-like aesthetic, and evolved it into a residential scale product to bring a sense of calm wonder as a stunning lighting centrepiece. Within the compositions drops of light glide effortlessly down the length of each tube, providing cascading light in a constant state of flux; perfect for a stairwell where the movement reflects the transition between floors during each day.
Using technology developed exclusively by Haberdashery, the final installation can be simply toggled between a static, dimmable light, and the animated rain-like effect with each tube displaying a unique, randomly generated flow of light,
The clusters of glass tubes are suspended from slimline ceiling plates and connected using minimal end caps in gold/silver plate or matt black.
There are 3 standard compositions available or Haberdashery’s in house design team can be commissioned to create custom compositions incorporating a combination of the 3 standard tube lengths to suit the project's requirements.
