Speno’s involvement in Australia began in 1969 when the first ‘grinding train’ commenced operation in the Pilbara, North West Australia. Since then, SRMA has developed and grown dramatically from providing only rail grinding activities to also providing ultrasonic rail flaw testing and track measurement systems. Working closely with their customers to develop the best strategies to suit individual rail needs to prolong rail life and quality, the company focus is to safely, and consistently lead innovation in the key areas of specialist track maintenance technologies and service provision, customized to deliver cost effective solutions that meet and exceed our client’s expectations. With contracts in rail testing and grinding extending to major mining, resource and rail infrastructure companies such as BHP, Rio Tinto, Roy Hill, PTA, ARC Infrastructure, Sydney Trains, ARTC, MTM, GWA and Aveng Rail, with a significant presence throughout Australia (WA, NT, NSW, VIC) and South Africa. SRMA are constantly expanding, evolving and improving, and questioning “how can we be better, do better?”.
All SRMA bespoke machines operated and maintained Australia wide are designed, manufactured, and assembled in Western Australia, with the majority of parts also stocked within the country. This along with SRMA’s BVQI accreditation and compliance with ISO9001:2015 Quality Management Systems, guarantees the customer a reliable Australian based and operated high-quality service and product. In addition, SRMA is an accredited ‘Rolling Stock Operator’ with the Office of the National Rail Safety Regulator and complies with Australian Rail Safety National Law.
