MELBOURNE The iconic E-Class LRV is based on Bombardier's FLEXITY platform and is the most reliable tram in Melbourne, home to the world's largest tram network. The fleet is made in Melbourne in Dandenong from raw materials, including welding car bodies and interior fitout. There are currently 89 E-Class LRV's in-service with this number set to grow to 100 in the coming months. GOLD COAST Based on the highly successful FLEXITY platform with a strong reputation for performance and reliability, the FLEXITY 2 tram combines proven features and innovation in a single vehicle. It sets the highest standards in the areas of comfort, safety and environmental protection. The trams for Gold Coast will be 43.4 m long and 2.65 m wide, with seven sections and four bogies. The vehicle will be capable of carrying about 80 seated passengers, and a total of approximately 304 passengers. Wide double-door entrances ensure rapid passenger flow and multi-purpose areas provide space for pushchairs and wheelchair users. Equipped with unique luggage racks to accommodate surfboards, these trams will support the lifestyle and mobility needs of the people and communities across the region.
