Paper ID: C2025-00485 ABSTRACT: Gas Processing facilities are ubiquitous and plays central importance towards energy security. Regenerative amine systems are widely utilized across gas processing plants to obtain the required gas specification. The absorbed acidic gasses in the amine regeneration system can cause corrosion related damage mechanism to both carbon steel and stainless steel materials. Consequently, the optimal performance of the amine regeneration system is mandatory to avoid product non-compliance and unplanned plant outage as a result of corrosion and integrity related failures.
The objective of this paper is to highlight the endeavors in the implementation of effective real-time corrosion and integrity management of Gas Plant. The program relied in establishing effective Integrity Operating Window (IOWs) alongside robust monitoring and inspection program. These include monitoring of critical process parameters such as rich amine loading, velocity and amine degradation products such as Heat Stable Amine Salts (HSAS). The paper will detail the utilization of a real time corrosion dashboard that provides instantaneous alerts when critical corrosion parameters are exceeded. The superiority of the system relies on the abilty to integrate diverse critical process, laboratory and corrosion parameters into a single platform that is used to ensure the integrity robustness of the unit performance.
