MCAS Miramar, Miramar, CA 1.0 PROJECT DESCRIPTION This design build project is an upgrade and repair of the existing Aviation Supply and Distribution Office (DMO), a 180,769 square foot (SF) warehouse facility. The main intent of this project is to correct life safety deficiencies in general, and bring the building up to current building codes, United Facilities Criteria (UFC) standards, energy code requirements, Architectural Barriers Act (ABA) standards, (Federal Emergency Management Agency) FEMA and Tri-service Seismic design criteria, installation requirements and Antiterrorism Force protection (ATFP) standards. The existing warehouse building is a one story building with a two story office addition on the north side and interior mezzanines for both offices and storage. The facility was built in four stages during the years of 1951, 1952, 1953 and 1956. It is constructed of non-ductile concrete moment frames with a precast concrete roof system.
