SS&C Blue Prism is helping transform public services with agentic AI through the introduction of Aimee, a virtual call agent deployed at Thurrock Council in the U.K. Built in partnership with OAS and CLEVVA, Aimee uses natural language processing (NLP) and intelligent automation to handle routine, high-volume inquiries such as council tax and rent, reducing call center pressure and extending service availability beyond standard hours. Unlike traditional chatbots, Aimee delivers natural, conversational interactions, can manage multiple requests in a single session, and seamlessly connects to back-office systems to update records or provide accurate, policy-based responses. She can even send follow-up information by text or email and flag sensitive cases for human advisors when needed. Just six months into a two-year rollout, Aimee already manages 18% of council tax and rent calls, allowing staff to focus on complex and vulnerable cases while improving accessibility and response times. By building on SS&C Blue Prism’s RPA foundation and scaling gradually, Thurrock Council created a trusted, resident-friendly experience. This project highlights how agentic AI can modernize government operations, reduce resource strain, and deliver more efficient, citizen-centered services — with proven solutions sharable across the wider public sector through the OAS Sharing Economy.
