Information
Marking takes up a large part of French teachers' time. Although unavoidable, this task weighs heavily on teachers' daily lives, as well as limiting the number of exercises that students can complete. The Emilia application was designed with the support of teachers to meet their real needs.
Emilia's algorithm corrects with great precision, following the teachers' correction grid, while giving them total control to adjust the correction to the concepts taught, add audio comments and approve the final mark.
Students quickly receive personalized feedback and hear their teacher comment on their text, which encourages them since they will clearly know what to do in their following papers.
The teacher has an overview of the abilities of his class, and Emilia suggests sub-groups according to the skills to be worked on, which frees up more time.
It took just 3 months to deliver an initial working prototype produced with the participation of over 300 users. By drastically reducing the time spent on marking, Emilia allows teachers to focus on more rewarding tasks, improving the overall learning experience for students.
For the future, Collège Sainte-Anne is thinking big, hoping to deploy Emilia throughout the province, marking a significant step forward in education in Quebec.
