Autonomous Robot innovation in the Montreal metro

In a pioneering project, the Société de transport de Montréal (STM) collaborated with us to explore the capabilities of Boston Dynamics’ Spot robot for autonomous inspections in the Montreal metro. Our goal was to enhance station maintenance by using Spot to detect issues like trash, graffiti, and burnt-out lightbulbs during nightly runs. Despite challenges, including limited operating time and complex object detection, Spot achieved 86% coverage and 70% accuracy in identifying anomalies.
