Our team developed an artificial intelligence solution that seamlessly integrates with Metro’s existing systems to predict the quantity of more than 5,000 perishable products (meat and fruits & vegetables) sold per day in each store in Quebec.
This AI solution allows Metro store managers to order the right quantity for each product, minimizing waste, and to better plan the labor required to process and prepare the products.
This innovation provides three major benefits for Metro:
- Allows for better inventory management to avoid potential food loss and reduce the risk of running out of products to optimize sales
- Equips each store manager with a data-driven decision tool to order the right quantity of product to meet customers’ ever-changing needs
- Provides a clear view of the labor requirements needed to process and prepare items in the store for a given period
