Faculty members in the Fulton Schools of Engineering are expected to develop an internationally recognized and externally funded research program, adopt effective pedagogical practices in the development and delivery of graduate and undergraduate courses, advise both undergraduate and graduate student research and projects, and undertake service activities.

The Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering at Arizona State University (ASU) and the School of Biological and Health Systems Engineering (SBHSE) seek applicants for multiple tenure-track or tenured faculty positions in the area of “Healthcare and AI.” SBHSE, one of the eight Fulton Schools, houses a vibrant multidisciplinary bioengineering research community with expertise in synthetic biology, systems bioengineering, bioimaging, biosensors, molecular, cellular and tissue engineering, regenerative medicine, and neural rehabilitation engineering (Learn more at https://research.engineering.asu.edu/). We seek applicants who complement our abilities in these areas to solve grand challenges as part of a community of experts. Particular areas of interest include, but are not limited to, cutting-edge AI research to improve public health outcomes, disease early detection and prevention, drug development, rehabilitation, and decision-making in ER or ICU. Areas of interest include applied and theoretical innovations in developing novel AI technologies and techniques to improve public health, machine learning, computer vision and medical imaging, natural language processing, computer graphics, medical and bioinformatics, the use of personalized/wearable devices, and mixed reality technologies to improve health and social outcomes, and multimodality data integration for real-time decision making.
