A basic primer for your patients to read about what hormones are and how they work. TAKING THE MYSTERY OUT OF HORMONE REPLACEMENT Frankly, there is no mystery. In the prime of your life, your endocrine hormones work in perfect harmony with one another and all of the body’s systems to keep you healthy, vibrant and performing at your peak. When hormones become imbalanced, as they do in peri-menopause and andropause, that’s when the body may begin to “fall apart,” as the saying goes. Adult onset diabetes, coronary artery disease, osteoporosis and a host of other aging-related diseases flourish in a body that is out of balance. In the following chapters, you’ll find answers to many of the questions you may have about hormones, hormone replacement and SottoPelle® Therapy. Studies date back as far as the 1930s along with recent scientific evidence supporting the use of bio-identicals versus synthetics, pellet therapy versus other modalities, and the importance of having a well-versed expert to administer your BHRT.
SottoPelle Therapy SottoPelle Therapy is an all-natural bio-identical hormone replacement therapy that specializes in the use of subcutaneous testosterone and estradiol pellets. It was developed in 1992 by the late Dr. Gino Tutera who also created the individualized dosing that is widely used today.  He is also the 1st and only one to own several patents on a dosing site to help providers with dosing their patients.  Dr. Tutera always believed in training providers the best way so they in turn could help their patients as he did for over 40 years.  He found that pellets are the only true source of bio-identical hormone with the right delivery system to help people age gracefully.  The use of biologically identical, non-synthetic, testosterone and estradiol is safe, and the use of pellets as the delivery method provides is effective. The delivery method of pellets allows for the continual release of the hormone - the key to improving brain and muscle function. Other delivery methods result in sporadic, or a "roller coaster," effect in the delivery and release of hormones within the body. These methods include pills, patches, injectables, and creams. Literature shows that the use of pellets and all-natural testosterone carries less risk compared to synthetic testosterone.  The Science of SottoPelle focuses on restoring the natural physiology of the body to its normal state using precisely measured doses customized to an individual patient's needs to achieve the appropriate physiologic effect to benefit that particular patient.
