Information

The Marginal Areas Program provides a financial incentive to seed those hard-to-access/poorly producing areas to perennial forages - so you increase profits while farming fewer acres. Forages improve profitability, increase pollinator habitat and biodiversity, reduce herbicide-resistant weeds, act as buffer zones to meet product label guidelines and manage clubroot issues. This program is designed to seed down acres that are unprofitable to grow crops while farming less land better. Producers receive $ 125/acre on eligible land and a free Pollinator Power Pak of benefit to pollinator species. For agronomic and economic discussion on managing saline areas, see the Discovery Farm Salinity Project Panel: https://aginmotion.app.swapcard.com/event/ag-in-motion-discovery-plus/planning/UGxhbm5pbmdfMTIyNjE5
Ducks Unlimited CanadaDucks Unlimited Canada - Virtual BoothWelcome to our Virtual Booth!  Ducks Unlimited Canada (DUC) has been active in the agriculture industry since the 1990s, and has been supporting the implementation of sustainable farming practices of benefit to Saskatchewan producers. Our programs have been continually adapted over the years in response to landowner goals and realities. DUC provides agronomic and financial support to Saskatchewan producers looking to enhance profitability and resilience of their operations. Here’s how: Through partnership with Nutrien Ag Solutions, DUC’s Forage Conversion Program provides financial assistance to producers looking to seed eligible areas to pasture or hay. DUC’s new Marginal Areas Program helps producers address salinity, moisture and club root issues, providing a financial incentive to convert marginal lands to forage. DUC supports local livestock producers by providing access to one third to one half of our quarters annually for grazing and hay through its Hay Tender Program. DUC provides agronomic support for winter wheat growers across the Canadian Prairies through the Western Winter Wheat Initiative, as well as financial support for variety development at the Lethbridge Agriculture and AgriFood Canada Research station. DUC operates the Touchwood Hills Conservation Ranch, a working 6500-acre ranch used to demonstrate management practices that are both economically and environmentally sound.
