Crop Plot Tour

Information

It all begins with resistance. Understanding canola blackleg spectrum and selecting hybrids to manage the threat. I don’t think you will find many western Canadian grain producers that will argue that canola is one of the most important crops in their rotation, if not the most important. With the challenging environmental conditions and short Canadian growing seasons, canola disease adds one more burden on the plant and ultimately the grower. Clubroot has been in the spotlight for the past few years and is an existing or emerging threat in all areas of the prairies, but there are other yield destroyers that are still with us and causing havoc. Twyla Jones, Manager of Agronomic services for North Central Alberta, Nutrien Ag Solutions ™ with the support of Kurt Holdis, Proven® Seed Representative will be hosting a virtual plot to tour to discuss blackleg, an ongoing dynamic threat that keeps canola plant breeders constantly trying to stay ahead of the race. Join them from the Ag In Motion site in Saskatoon to get an update on the changing spectrum of blackleg and some of the premium blackleg resistance genetics available to growers.
