Engineering 100% Wood Packaging Components Without Plastic Insert

Since 2001, wood componentry has been embraced by the beauty industry for packaging purposes, particularly for caps for jars and bottles. However, one limitation of the material, up until now, has been the requirement to include plastic inserts within such caps, to ensure the component meets the necessary closure performance, functional properties, and reliability standards. Developing a system that would no longer require such plastic inserts was a challenge put to Quadpack. Quadpack is pleased to share the story of 2 years of intense research & development that has delivered a fully mono-material wood cap system, called ‘Woodacity®’, that meets this challenge.
