Functions as an anti-inflammatory shield for the skin when subjected to environmental pressures. It is proven to significantly shield against ROS formation induced by blue light in an ex-vivo skin model study.  Has a pronounced protective effect when applied 24 hours before UV exposure, by preventing the formation of proinflammatory cytokines IL-1α and PGE-2.
