Astral Mixtape is a band that creates groundbreaking original music with classical instruments and electronics. By combining their wide-ranging listening interests with a lifetime of classical training, they have created a personal musical language all their own. Their live performances synthesize the spectacle of pop, the spontaneity of jazz, and the experimentation of contemporary music. <-p>

They are winners of the 2023 Astral Artists Competition and the 2024 Beverly Hills National Auditions. Recent engagements include DePauw University (IN), Banff Arts Centre (AB), Idyllwild Arts Academy (CA), Hugh’s Room (ON), and collaborations with the Westside Ballet (CA) and Vancouver Symphony Orchestra (WA). More at astralmixtape.com Individually, the four musicians studied at top conservatories, including Juilliard, Colburn, Royal Academy of Music, and University of Southern California. In April 2025, they will release an album of seven original works called Biolumy.<-p>

Astral MixtapeGrand PerformancesAstral Mixtape fuses classical instrumentation with electronics to craft music that is personal, captivating, and boldly original. With an unconventional ensemble of two violins, cello, and keyboards, the group is reimagining chamber music for the 21st century, blurring the boundaries between composer, arranger, and performer. Their work draws from a broad spectrum of influences, synthesizing the exuberance of pop, the improvisational spirit of jazz, and the adventurous edge of contemporary music into a sound that is unmistakably their own. Winners of the 2023 Astral Artists National Auditions and the 2024 Beverly Hills National Auditions, Astral Mixtape brings their genre-defying performances to stages across North America. Recent engagements include Banff Centre’s Martha Greenham Theater (AB), the Eagles Theatre (IN), Greystone Mansion (CA), Hugh’s Room (ON), World Cafe Live (PA), Hotel Café (CA), The 1905 (OR), and Rockwood Music Hall (NYC). They have served as resident artists at festivals such as the Meadowlark Music Festival, Caroga Lake Music Festival, Benefic Chamber Music Camp, and the Vancouver Music & Arts Festival, where they appeared alongside artists including Time for Three and VSO USA. In April 2025, they released their second album, Biolumy, which embodies their expansive sound world: a vibrant fusion of orchestral color, electronic energy, and jazz-inflected lyricism. Dedicated to the next generation of artists, Astral Mixtape regularly leads residencies and workshops at institutions across the country, including the University of Southern California, Idyllwild Arts Academy, University of Nebraska, DePauw University, Pasadena City College, and numerous public schools. Their educational work invites students to explore collaborative creation and nurture artistic authenticity. Astral Mixtape operates under fiscal sponsorship from the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra.
