Cabinet of Curiosities was developed in collaboration with Warner Classics, following the success of Seasons (2023), our debut as an exclusive Warner Classics recording artist. Cabinet of Curiosities will be released for Halloween 2025, and we are eager to perform our new program for nationwide audiences.
Cabinet of Curiosities evolved from a melding of the richness of backgrounds, traditions, and artistic interests of our own multicultural musicians in Delirium Musicum, whose wide-ranging musical tastes bring so much flavor and identity to our chamber ensemble. While deeply rooted in the classical canon, we thought, what if we collect and put together the individual pieces that move us and always pique our musical imagination, reconnecting the works of past masters with our present-day sensibilities—works that excite and inspire and challenge and ultimately satisfy our musical curiosity? That is the thread that binds our Cabinet of Curiosities program.
Think of it as a musical Advent calendar, each piece opening a new window in a series of revelations that lead from one surprise to another. There is something for everyone, and we hope everyone will discover something new, too. Our performance will include selections that cross genres and periods, to share with audiences a taste of the musical counterpoint the entire concert program will offer.
