Masterclass: Renal Access and Interventions
Friday, April 25, 2025 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM · 9 hr. (America/New_York)
Hands-on Skills Training
Endourology/UrolithiasisStones
Information
This interactive, hands-on skills training offers practicing urologists skills in percutaneous renal access and image-guided renal interventions. Urologists taking the course will expand their skills, empowering them to elevate the quality of care for their patients.
Through a full day of hands-on skills training and interactive, case-based learning with internationally renowned experts, attendees will gain knowledge and skills to perform techniques in diagnostic and interventional renal ultrasound, percutaneous access with ultrasound, fluoroscopy and combined retrograde/antegrade techniques as well as mini-PCNL.
Accreditation Statement:
The American Urological Association (AUA) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
Credit Designation:
The American Urological Association designates this live activity for a maximum of 7.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
Learning Objectives:
After participating in this CME activity, participants will be able to:
1. Recognize and mitigate exposure to radiation
2. Select case and access sites according to appropriate pre-operative decision-making principles and guidelines
3. Employ mini-PCNL techniques
4. Utilize fluoroscopy with combined retrograde/antegrade techniques to gain access to the kidney
5. Gain access to the kidney using proper ultrasound techniques
6. Perform renal imaging using ultrasound consoles
7. Explain the basics of renal ultrasonography and distinguish the differences in the supine and prone positions
8. Determine optimal imaging for renal ultrasound
9. Perform fundamental skills to adopt ultrasound-guided percutaneous renal access/dilation and nephrostomy tube placement
10. Perform ultrasound-guided renal biopsy and cyst aspiration
