Information

Glow Up Games is looking for a talented technical / shader / vfx artist to join our team for an immediate start! We’re a truly diverse game studio (founded by women of color) with a base on the East Coast but wonderful team members all over the US (& one or two international ones too!). We’re a small but growing and friendly team, and we believe that all disciplines are crucial to making great games. Fully remote and flexible is possible! Initial three month contract, though with an opportunity for the right person to join our team longer term too. Here’s what we’re looking for -- if this sounds anything like you (even if there’s one or two things you need just a little more practice with), we’d love to hear from you! * Solid grounding in Unity with at least 2 years of Unity experience. * Working within the Unity game engine to improve visual quality, performance and pipelines. * Work alongside our art director in implementing their designs and mockups within the Unity engine. * Comfortable with asset creation in Digital Content Creation tools such as Maya/Blender/Zbrush and doing asset optimisation for mobile devices. * Unity render pipelines like HDRP/URP/Standard, as well as an excellent knowledge of the Unity Engine asset and animation pipelines.  * Previous experience working with some kind of source control essential - we use Plastic and Git, depending on the project! * Creating materials and shaders using Unity's Shader Graph and tools such as Amplify. Knowledge of working in tools such as Shader Editor and Substance Suite. Coding in Shaderlab/HLSL/GLSL is a bonus. * Strong grasp of core components within Unity such as Cinemachine, Timeline and using the profiler for optimisation. We also want folks who are great at working with a friendly and diverse team. We’re passionate about working together to build a team environment that feels not only supportive - but joyful and affirming! -- for people of all backgrounds.
