A collection in collaboration with fashion designer Christoph Rumpf
Robert La Roche(HERITAGE) A Vision Makes History When the Austrian designer Robert La Roche designed his first eyewear collection in 1973, he combined authentic artisanship with an individual design language. In the 80s, his creations were a hit the new wave era. In the nineties, the eyes of the world turned to his timeless masterpiece - from Hollywood to Andy Warhol's Factory. In 1999, the successful designer retired. Since then, a team in Graz manages his eyewear brand and now the brand is returning to where it belongs - to the Haute Couture of eyewear design. (VISION) Glasses for Humans. Not for everybody. It is our style to play with creative dissonance. We think back to the golden era of the Robert La Roche brand and have not lost sight of the future. What drives us is the courage to take unconventional approaches and the willingness to merge contradictions. This creates models with a strong character made of acetate and titanium, which knows how to inspire. Robert La Roche comes into play where people become personalities. (DESIGN) It starts with Creative minds. Over the decades, Robert La Roche has created numerous stylish eyewear designs. A new generation of designers give the collections a contemporary touch and creating modern classics with fresh ideas. The Robert La Roche range currently comprises of four different lines. The current “M collection” made of acetate, the one made of pure titanium and two new collections. The latest collections, Robert La Roche is collaborating with the celebrated fashion designer Christoph Rumpf. (PRODUCTION) Made for Special moments They are models with character, created from high quality materials, with passion and time. The attention to detail is visible behind each shape because the Robert La Roche glasses are hand-made exclusively. The production of the acetate frames takes place in the best factories in Italy. In Japan, the pure titanium frames and models that combine both materials are meticulously made. The manufacturers passionately creates a real dream of eyeglasses from our designers´ visionary ideas with utmost dedication. (ABOUT US / TEAM) The people Behind the glasses Since 2020, an international team led by General Manager Kamilia Kusz has been principal in carrying the Robert La Roche brand into a new era. They combine respect for the iconic designer and his life's work with ideas for the future. It is the inspiring environment and the family atmosphere that breathe life into their visions. This joy and passion are reflected in every single model in our collections. Christoph Rumpf Collection Christoph Rumpf, the young fashion designer from Graz, inspires the fashion world with his opulent creations made from vintage fabrics. In 2019, he won first prize at the 34th Hyères International Festival for Fashion and Photography and opened the Berlin Fashion Week. Now he is presenting his first eyewear collection in collaboration with Robert La Roche: a classic acetate collection with six models inclusive of two limited editions in 100 pieces each. All frames are available in four colours. In its classic line, Rumpf mixes the elitist nerd look of the 50s and 60s with a touch of poetry and in a clear design language. The expressive glasses were created with a nod to the style-conscious and the free spirits of fashion. The Limited Edition by Christoph Rumpf is a radical statement. The “Godfather” and “Moonstruck” sunglasses know how to attract attention with their massive, geometric shape and self-confident opulence. The inspiration for these pieces were the big screen icons like Liz Taylor and Jeff Goldblum with the futuristic aesthetics of the 80s and 90s.
