Itan Barmes is a cryptography management and quantum security specialist at the cyber team of Deloitte NL, and a project fellow at the World Economic Forum. He focuses on the impact of quantum computing on cyber security and assists his clients to safely transition to the post quantum era. Itan is also involves in research activities to quantify the quantum risk to blockchain, as well as performing resource estimations on how powerful quantum computers need to become before they pose a threat to cryptography. Dr Barnes has a PhD in quantum physics from the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam where he conducted research on high precision spectroscopy.
