Below find an excerpt of the INTPA E3 & EU Africa Business Forum Facility November Monthly Bulletin: The EU-Africa Business Forum (EABF) offers a platform for dialogue, bringing together political and business leaders from the European Union (EU) and Africa. Its primary aim is to increase investment and trade opportunities, fostering sustainable economic partnerships, between the two continents. The forum promotes business cooperation through business-to-business (B2B), business-to-government (B2G), and government-to-government (G2G) interactions, and facilitates high-level public-private dialogue on key issues, particularly those related to strengthening and integrating EU-Africa value chains, in line with the Comprehensive Strategy with Africa and the Global Gateway Initiative. Since January 2024, the European Commission has set up the EABF facility, a permanent structure tasked with the coordination and implementation of the EABF Facility’s 5-year programme. This programme includes the preparation of the 2025 and 2028 EABF and B2B activities such as matchmaking and investor pitching events, supporting the EU Delegations in the preparation of the bilateral EU Business Forums, organising panel discussions, workshops, and strengthening links between EU and African business organizations, amongst others. The EABF Facility is strategically overseen by DG International Partnerships (DG INTPA) which plays a central role in ensuring the Facility aligns with the EU’s overall objectives. DG INTPA, Unit E3 - Private Sector Engagement and Employment - is responsible for coordinating efforts within the European Commission and with EU Delegations, fostering collaboration and integrating the Facility’s activities with broader EU development and cooperation priorities.
