I have been working on the cutting edge of systems development for MSE since we started promoting financial systems and sub-sector approaches in the late 1980s. I have been the technical director for more than 20 major MSD projects in the last decade, two of which are now in their 15th years. The lessons learned from these programs provide unique perspectives into successful systemic development, how different interventions interact and how programs have adapted to maximize the synergies of their interventions to deliver maximum impact.
