About me

Helen is a development professional with a career spanning market system approaches to solving problems ranging from animal welfare in Ethiopia to early economic recovery in post-tsunami Indonesia. She is Team Leader of the long running Mercy Corps SDC/ADA/Sida funded Alliances programme in Georgia, a flagship Green MSD programme www.alcp.ge and advises on MSD, WEE, greening MSD and results measurement, including measuring and responding to system change. Helen has a strong interest in codifying practical elements of successful programming for wider use in market development programming. She is engaged with a global community of practice including the DCED, BEAM Exchange and SDC E+I network and was a trainer on the Springfield Making Markets Work training course. Publications include Countering the Impact of Climate Change on Livestock Production in Georgia, the BEAM Blog How do you Codify Common Sense? ILO’s Better Cheese Better Work, The ALCP’s Impact on Informality and Working Conditions in Georgia’s Dairy Sector, How to Put Gender and WEE into Practice in M4P published by DCED and the BEAM Case Study Transforming Access to Veterinary Services in Georgia.
