About me

Gwendolyn Tweed is a skilled grants/procurement manager with over 14 years of experience supporting the implementation of USAID-funded economic growth projects. In addition to her expertise in grants management, Ms. Tweed brings strong experience in economic growth, market systems, and value chain development. Her grants expertise includes the innovative use of grants mechanisms to achieve systems-oriented goals and establish sustainable partnerships with the private sector. Over her career she has retooled and refocused grant funding processes to align with an adaptive market systems approach, while also ensuring compliance with USAID regulations. Ms. Tweed is currently providing expert direction, compliance, and oversight to the market systems project USAID Southern Africa Mobilizing Investment (Mobilizing Investment) as the Grants and Partnership Manager, which has a $13 million grant fund to help mobilize investment within Southern Africa. She is working on integrating renewal awards within Mobilizing Investment’s current notice of funding opportunity and has committed over $7.2 million in catalytic grants within the first year of the project’s implementation.
