Kahin Ismail has worked for UNHCR for over 20 years. He is currently the Chief of Self-Reliance and Economic Inclusion of UNHCR, based in Geneva, Switzerland. Kahin has worked for UNHCR in various global operations, including in Kenya, Malta, Afghanistan, Iraq, Jordan, Sudan and Sri Lanka as well as UNHCR HQ in Geneva. In this regard, Kahin has worked in the field in many capacities and very closely with international partners and Government authorities on refugee matters in varied contexts, including in major refugee and forced displacement context. In his current portfolio, Kahin leads UNHCR efforts in promoting the socio-economic inclusion of refugees and displaced persons in order to support their resilience and self-reliance. Kahin has degrees in international relations and law.
