Mark is an independent consultant and Senior Advisor at ODI. His main work at present involves providing advice on strategy to philanthropic foundations. Mark has written publications on a range of topics including public finance, international cooperation and economic transformation. Previously, Mark held a range of leadership roles in ODI including Director of Global Strategy, Director of the Development and Public Finance programme and Director of the ODI Fellowship Scheme. Mark has advised finance ministries in Southern Africa and East Asia and has also worked with the World Bank Group and United Nations Development Programme. He was a member of the senior expert advisory group of Coalition of Finance Ministers for Climate Action and on the advisory board of the international Public Expenditure Financial Accountability programmes. Prior to his work in public policy, Mark worked with Unilever.
