Masonry according to Eurocode 6 | Design and construction

Masonry is used in load-bearing and non-load-bearing components in almost 80% of all standard building structures in Germany. The design and construction of masonry in Germany is based on the European series of standards Eurocode 6 with the associated National Annexes. Compared to the status of DIN 1053-1, innovations have been introduced in many aspects. These relate on the one hand to the building materials and on the other hand to requirements for construction and mathematical verifications. In this presentation, Detleff Schermer will give you a comprehensive overview of the fundamentals and innovations in EC6. He will also show you the verification procedure required in practice. In addition, the design rules and the verification of fire resistance duration will be discussed.
