Accelerating Impact

Accelerating Impact is a pioneering organization dedicated to driving meaningful change by fostering and supporting the next generation of leaders in both climate and social finance. Established as the umbrella organization for the International Climate Finance Accelerator (ICFA) and the International Social Finance Accelerator (ISFA), Accelerating Impact is committed to catalyzing innovative solutions to some of the world's most pressing challenges.

ICFA

The International Climate Finance Accelerator (ICFA) is an independent non-profit association, set up in 2018 as a public-private partnership by the Luxembourgish State and a dozen private partners with deep experience in impact finance, with a mission to accelerate the climate finance leaders of tomorrow across the globe.

The ICFA offers an innovative multi-year programme that accelerates emerging fund managers focusing on key areas for climate action such as Climate Change Mitigation and Climate Change Adaptation. Selected fund managers receive access to financial support, trainings on a wide range of topics, an experienced coach, and many other benefits. The fund managers are selected through a highly competitive, three phase selection process, first by the ICFA team, then an independent consultant, and finally by our Selection Committee. To highlight the competition, for the 2024 Cohort, the ICFA saw 64 eligible applicants, and selected only 5 as part of the Cohort.

ISFA

The International Social Finance Accelerator (ISFA) is built on the success of the ICFA, and rather than focusing on climate action, will focus on solving Social Issues. The Accelerating Impact team is currently hard at work preparing the ISFA programme, with the launch taking place in September 2024 and first calls for application opening in December 2024.

The Impact Finance Forum

Accelerating Impact is pleased to announce it’s third edition of the Impact Finance Forum (IFF) occurring on 15 October 2024. The IFF is a prestigious event held in Luxembourg, hosted by Spuerkeess, aimed at bringing together stakeholders from various impact finance sectors to foster collaboration and accelerate innovative finance solutions focused on climate action and social progress.

The urgency to address climate change and social issues has never been greater, as the world continues to face unprecedented challenges caused by extreme weather events, environmental degradation, and social struggles.

The IFF will build on the deliberations and insights from previous years around challenges in bridging the funding gap, mobilizing private capital, and addressing cross-cutting issues.

The IFF serves as a platform for key players in impact finance to exchange ideas, explore innovative approaches, and forge strategic partnerships. The event will feature a series of engaging round-table discussions, running concurrently with inspiring keynote speeches from renowned impact thought leaders.
